Former Top Gear hosts Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May have signed a blockbuster $250m deal to present a new car show on Amazon’s streaming video service, Amazon Prime, in 2016. It’s obvious to assume that this new motoring show will most likely be like Top Gear. The programme will air for the first time next year and it will be produced by former Top Gear executive Andy Wilman, an old school friend of Jeremy, who is credited with revamping the format and turning it into the world’s most successful factual TV show. This deal follows their departure from the hit BBC Two show earlier this year. Clarkson’s contract was not renewed after 27 years of doing the show, following an “unprovoked physical attack” on a Top Gear producer, Oisin Tymon. The BBC then faced the challange of trying to reinvent its motorcar show, which generates an estimated £150m…Continue Reading
People are certanly not happy with Tesco’s plan to ban Ribena as well as Capri Sun. The plan, which will also see other sugary drinks including Capri-Sun removed from shelves, is being made in a bid to combat childhood obesity. However, best-selling fizzy drinks, including Coca Cola, will stay. Tesco, the UK’s biggest supermarket chain will be making the change on September 7, to coincide with the end of school summer holidays, when sugary drinks will either replaced by no-added-sugar alternatives or Tesco no-added-sugar own-label products. Tesco’s soft drinks buying manager David Beardmore told trade magazine The Grocer that the changes were being made as part of an overhaul of the kids’ juice category. He said: “This is part of our 10-point plan against obesity and we have decided that from September we will only sell no-added-sugar drinks in the kids’ juice category. “Most of the suppliers are supportive of…Continue Reading

Successful Rapper/Actor and Investor, real name Curtis Jackson, aka 50 Cent, has just filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. The 40-year-old rapper, who’s estimated net worth was $155 million in May, has now reported assets and debts between $10 million and $50 million. Chapter 11 allows companies time to re-organise their finances while protecting them from creditors’ demands. Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Paul Wooten had requested that 50 Cent disclose details of his finances. Later, a lawyer for 50 Cent (Mr Jackson), William A Brewer III, said his client’s business operations would continue. “Mr Jackson’s business interests will continue unaffected in the ordinary course during the pendency of the Chapter 11 case,” the attorney said in a statement. It added: “This filing for personal bankruptcy protection permits Mr Jackson to continue his involvement with various business interests and continue his work as an entertainer.” He filed for bankruptcy just three days…Continue Reading
“The Lion King (Modern Trailer)” was uploaded by user Ryan Shukis, who describes himself as an “unemployed video editor.” He has also reworked trailers for “Jaws” and “The Little Mermaid.” Disney’s The Lion King, is arguably one of the best movies ever made. I mean, who hasn’t seen it? Not only that, but it has one of the best soundtracks too! It’s been out around for 21 years, so a self-described ‘unemployed’ Ryan Sukis decided to update the movies trailer from 1994. BUT, before you get all hakuna-what, it’s not really getting the kind of update where suddenly Simba has superpowers and Nola is all CGI, rather more of a very serious and intense look into the film.
